Freitag, 23. Januar, live: Gordon Raphael (us) + Chuckamuck (berlin) ... disque on randale @ Madame Claude

Since 2001 the name Gordon Raphael has become a synonym for the return of »popular« rock'n'roll. With producing The Strokes' first two albums Is This It and Room on Fire, garage became an approving term again and landed back in the mainstream. Through the publicity the band got, Gordon got known as producer, but most people never knew, that Gordon was also a musician in the first place. He had several bands, before the success came and he finally to Berlin escaped, where he now lives and at the moment sets up a new recording studio. But it's the absolute very first time that Gordon Raphael will perform with live musicians (joining for instance the drummer from I am X) in Berlin, and probably the first time in ages anyway! Chuckamuck, Berlin kids who anew have come to save the rock'n'roll, will perform acoustic, and will so for once maybe not break their drum kit into pieces.

Seit 2001 ist der Name Gordon Raphael kein unbekannter mehr. Seit dem Erscheinen des Debütalbum der Strokes Is This It hat sich in der Musiklandschaft wieder einiges getan: Garage ist wieder mehr als nur ein alter Schuppen. Daß aber Gordon Raphael nicht nur Produzent, sondern in erster Linie selber Musiker ist, wissen nur die wenigsten. Und daß er es ruhiger kann, beweist er Freitag im familiären Rahmen des Madame Claude in Kreuzberg, wo er das erste Mal in Berlin mit Musikern live auftreten wird. Mit dabei die sehr jungen Chuckamuck aus Berlin, die statt ihres herkömlichen halsbrecherischen Rock'n'Roll, diesmal auch etwas leiser zu erleben sein werden.
